Trios, Trials, and Torrential Rain ☔️

Okay, first things first. This week has been a circus....But! We've had a lot of cool experiences.

We are now in a trio! Her name is Hermana Hamilton from Logan, UT. She's a great missionary and has talent with the language. She has a great desire to learn. I must say that there's a reason it says many times that missionaries come two by two. Three is company. The upside is that we now can teach in any situation without having to worry about it having another woman there.

I am finally getting over a sinus infection. Two and a half weeks is a long time to be sick as a missionary. I finally got on an antibiotic, but it made me really sick. Like throwing up at church sick. The doctor switched my Rx so now I'm feeling a lot better!

We found a lot of people to teach. We were able to find and teach two sets of four men/roommates. This week we started teaching eight males. Eight. Ever, Carlos, Diego, Guillermo, Jovani, Carlos 2, Manuel, and Eulises. Carlos and Diego are the sons of Ever, and Guillermo is Hever's nephew. Jovani, Carlos 2, Manuel, and Eulises all work together. Are you getting all of this? Ahh they are all fun to teach! Eulises has been our investigator for awhile, and we just happened to show up on a night when all of the hombres were home. We were able to sit around the table and introduce the Book of Mormon and talk about Christ's church. It was incredible as the Spirit filled the room and testified to all of us the truthfulness of this gospel.

Finding the other 4 amigos happened in a weird kind of way. We had met Guillermo and Diego outside one day and we were able to share the message of the Restoration with them. Whoa...I'm getting ahead of myself, here's the backstory. We had dropped by to talk to a less-active and asked these two if they knew a Mauricio. (We were in a hurry and didn't have time to really talk to them.) So after hearing their reply of no, we took off to his apartment. Our purpose in going there was to get him to a fireside.  After a lengthy discussion with him, he still didn't want to go. We started leaving, defeated and a little confused on why we felt so prompted that he needed to share his testimony. We even told him about our promptings and still he didn't want to go. Right before we left, he pointed to the two people we had asked earlier about him and said that they wanted to learn about Christ. We both were a little frustrated at him and them because we had just talked to them and they said they didn't know Mauricio! How could he know they wanted to talk about Christ?? He then told us that as we were walking back to the car he said a quick hello and they said they would like to talk to us. At this point we realized we would not be going to the fireside and went and talked to them.....they of course were interested. So during the lesson several times, Mauricio was able to share his testimony and at the end...it was amazing. He shared the purest sweetest testimony and The Spirit pierced our hearts. Needless to say we set up a return appointment and then met everyone else and were able to reteach the Restoration with Diego's father and brother as well as his cousin Guillermo. The Church is true everyone! The Church is true.

Something really neat happened. Last night we had nothing...we had nobody to teach and just went out walking and knocking doors. Our appointment fell through so we decided to just start walking. Within 3 hours, we had found four different people to teach and had taught and testified many many times. It was amazing! Each of these people were very kind and genuine. This week, we will be able to share more with them and we are really excited! God truly blessed us.
